"My work for Abella
was in two distinct parts. The designers wanted the elevator lobbies
to be a fairly soft evocation of the arts, choosing certain identifiable
objects and figures to represent the worlds of music, performing,
and visual arts. Each floor is related to the others but has some
of its own images and flavor. The idea here was to reinforce the
offerings of the emerging cultural hub of the Eastside right at
their doorstep Bellevue. A bit of whimsy keeps it from taking
itself too seriously."
