ILLUSTRATIONS

I have been drawing and painting ever since I can remember. My favorite media are colored pencils, watercolors and pen and ink, not necessarily in that order. I've looked for projects to keep up these skills. At Origi-Nails Inc. and at Michaels Stores, I created pen and ink product drawings that were used in the selling sheets and newspaper ads. At Practitioners Publishing Company, my drawings were chosen for the annual Christmas cards. As a member of the Evergreen Basenji Club, I've been able to interpret members' ideas and create my own for use on t-shirts, mugs, etc. I consider these skills essential for continued success and enjoyment.

Comments: Brad Potter wrote this children's story and asked me to illustrate it. He commented that the illustrations were better than he had hoped for and he was very pleased.

Comments: 1995 Christmas card for Practitioners Publishing Company. Illustration, design and interior greeting were executed as part of a company contest. The cards were mailed to vendors, customers, and friends of the company.

The interior greeting read, “May your New Year be filled with the possibilities of dreams and the wonders of the season. Thank you for your friendship and loyalty. Practitioners Publishing Company.”

Comments: In 2006 the Evergreen Basenji Club wanted to expand the scope of t-shirt sales. So I created this front and back design of all the dog breeds accepted for lure coursing. Of course it was important to the club the the Basenji was leading the way. It was also challenging to make sure that all the breeds looked as realistic as possible. This t-shirt has enjoyed very good sales and has been reprinted several times.

Comments: Basenjis are still used in modern Africa as hunting dogs for small game. In 2007 the Evergreen Basenji Club sponsored the African exhibition at the Basenji Club of America's national specialty show. This t-shirt design was created especially for this occasion and also sold throughout the year as a club fund-raiser.
